Develop, manage and implement technical requirements for preparation and deployment of all UO’s CRM email programs including; production & coding, dynamic customization, optimization, and deployment of complex email campaigns. Recommends and guides UO to greater levels of sophistication, implementing advanced and complex email functionalities to optimize performance metrics.


Job Responsibilities :

  • Production of emails templates, including:
  • Conversion of photoshop documents to HTML templates
  • Email template creation and editing utilizing proper HTML coding and image and link optimization to meet compatibility across all email clients on multiple computer platforms including most commonly used web clients
  • Image manipulation including color correction, compression and resizing.
  • Restructuring and/or hand-coding HTML templates to meet design standards
  • Set up of email campaign within campaign management platform, including:
  • Uploading HTML/Text content to email platform
  • Set up email segments
  • Data queries and scripting needed to support dynamic and conditional content rules and configuration of link tracking
  • Set up of campaign hierarchy & business rules for triggered programs
  • Management of content change, a/b testing, and click tracking
  • Campaign deliverability monitoring & performance tracking, including:
  • Monitor campaign deliverability to identify problems interfering with campaign success & take corrective actions to resolve
  • Work closely with our 3rd party delivery consultants to monitor email quantities, bounce backs, open, unsubscribe, click-through rates, and other relevant criteria
  • Report on deliverability results of emails campaigns and make recommendations for optimization of performance
  • Analyze email performance to provide regular, accurate, and useful reporting on active campaigns, and also maintain a historical view of performance
  • Identify trends and opportunities for improved email campaign metrics and make recommendations for future campaigns
  • Testing and QA of email campaigns, including:
  • Functionality, logic, links, tagging, design, copy, tracking, and display through multiple browsers and operating systems prior to deployment to ensure industry best practices are met, and include CAN-SPAM laws and privacy/permissions practices
  • Regular monitoring and testing on ongoing trigger campaigns to ensure continuation of quality of design, coding, and performance.
  • Conduct quality assurance for all email campaigns, including verifying counts, program and campaign codes
  • Act as a subject matter expert with responsibilities to:
  • Keep up to date on standards, regulations and best practices for email deliverability, including assessing major ESP standards, best practices, SPAM and bounce processing.
  • Maintain awareness of email marketing trends, technologies, CAN-SPAM law
  • Participate during project brief creation and review on email campaign projects
  • Document standards and best practices and make recommendations to optimize email strategy and design.
  • Serve as team expert on the software vendor’s capabilities and email coding, and process to launch email campaigns
    Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
