Network Engineer, Routing and Switching



Summary: Glow Networks, the Carrier Services Group of CSS Corp, is seeking Network Engineers, which will support major wireless carriers from a customer lab located in Redmond, WA. The engineers must be able to closely coordinate with clients and internal teams. Primary function is to act as a network engineer in a service provider environment with emphasis on Routing & Switching. A great deal of customer interaction is expected. The engineer will resolve network fault isolation problems and complex network problem escalations. This is a 6 month contract opportunity with extension and is well suited for a CCNP or CCIP level network engineer. 


Education: BSEE or BSCS, MSEE, MSCS, or similar, with emphasis in Telecommunications


Employee Status: This position is open to US citizens, permanent residents and others authorized to live and work in the US. TN visa sponsorship will gladly be offered to qualified candidates who are citizens of Canada or Mexico.  


Certifications: CCIP or CCNP


Location: These positions are based in Redmond, WA and, the engineers will reside inthe Seattle metro area. Some travel may be required. 


Experience Required is 2+ years:

•         Experience as a network engineer with a carrier such as ATT or Verizon is a strong plus

•         Experience with Cisco CSR-1, GRS and/or 7600 series routers is desired 

  • Relevant job experience within a Tier 3 or higher support organization or within the telecom department of a major financial institution or large corporation is desired 
  • Experience with configuring routing and switching devices

Technical Skills Requirements: 

  • Command of routing and switching protocols and IP Networking Fundamentals
  • Ability to analyze and suggest improvements to both IP and legacy based networks 
  • Strong knowledge of MPLS, BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies
  • Expertise with Cisco or other routing/switching platforms
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Cisco IOS and/or XR) software, features and functionality
  • Comprehensive understanding of IP protocols
  • Ability to provide specialized technical support in routing switching
  • Able to proactively share knowledge and learning with the network support team
