Our client in Denver, CO is seeking a Software / Solutions Engineer with experience in C# / .NET.  This is a direct hire / full time opportunity.  Interviews could begin as early as next week. 

  SUMMARY: The Software/Solution Engineer will design/develop/modify applications that will be used by internal staff and customers in a transaction-oriented production environment in the real estate services industry.  These applications will involve development using Third-Party Rapid Application Development (RAD) platforms, as well as custom development using .NET Visual Studio.  There are components in C# .Net, SQL and ASP.NET that may need to be developed as requirements dictate. The applications make extensive use of databases (SQL) and are run in a high volume, high availability, real time, 24x7 environments.  This position includes a mixture of maintenance/enhancement of existing code and some creation of new systems.

The Software/Solutions Developer will also help design and maintain software applications under the guidance of a Software Development Manager. The Software/Solutions Developer will gather user requests for different features to improve functionality, speed, performance and usability. The Software/Solutions Developer will also conduct system tests, troubleshoot customer issues and correct software defects. Other duties may include creating project documentation for developed solutions, and developing prototypes for new software solutions.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Develop software solutions using various third-party RAD platforms

  • Develop workflow solutions using the Serena business Manager (SBM) Platform
  • Develop mapping solutions using the Adeptia ETL Suite
  • Develop software solutions using the OutSystems Agile Platform
 

Develop software solutions using MS Visual Studio .NET

  • Design, develop, maintain, and release production level C# .NET application modules.
  • Modify existing and creates new SQL Server views, stored procedures and functions used to pass data from the database to the data handling layer.
  • Participate in application design sessions with development management, architects, BAs, DBAs, and clients to develop the business and software specifications based on project needs.
 

Develop software extensions to interface RAD tools to existing in-house solutions

  • Design, Develop and code C# libraries and web services
  • Design, Develop and code extensions to access existing SQL DBs
 

Document software solutions

  • Leverage each RAD tool’s self-documentation feature
  • Interface Architectures and Data Formats (e.g. XML)
  • Processing flows (Asynchronous and Synchronous)
  • Reporting and Data Management
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery
 

Participate in cooperative research and selection of vendor solutions

  • Work closing with vendors that align with internal Technology goals and strategies
  • Provide input to Selection Criteria process and present recommendations
 

Other  Functions

  • Works within the timing and requirements parameters as defined by development management, software specifications and the business requirements provided by the customer.
  • Interacts with QA and support teams to diagnose and troubleshoot product related issues
  • Documents source code and functionality within the RAD toll environment as well as maintaining source code control using Team Foundation Server for C# development components.
  • Participates in code reviews, risk analysis, and third party application review based on project needs.
  • Perform related duties as requested.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

  • BA/BS Degree in mathematics or computer science, or equivalent, preferred.
 

Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in .Net software development, or 3 years VB experience with 3+ years of .Net experience.
  • Two (2) or more years solution development skills involving technical skills progression utilizing Third Party Tools.
  • One (1) or more years Database & Data Warehousing Experience
 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Web User Interface Design Knowledge and Web Programming Skills,

    using: C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Visual Studio, IIS and SQL Server 2005 and above
  • Experience working with Rapid Development tools
  • Web User Interface Design Knowledge and Web Programming Skills using: C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Visual Studio, IIS and SQL Server desirable.
  • Competent working with XML and the .NET XML libraries that provide methods to read, write, process, and navigate through XML documents.
  • Understands Software Architecture, Software Development Fundamentals and Best Practices.
  • Object-Oriented Design, specifically using C#, .NET ASP into a SQL back end.
  • Experience with VB and migrating projects from VB to newer technologies a plus
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiar with Software Debugging protocols and practices.
  • Ability to work with non-technical users to understand and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Application development experience in Document Management, Mortgage or Financial Services a plus.
