Web Developer - Retail Analytics

Are you passionate about building great user experiences? Simplifying complex workflows?

The Vendor Negotiations team needs one exceptional Web Developer to create compelling user interfaces for interactive, highly analytical applications. Duties will include translating business requirements, user needs, and technical capabilities into designs that are visually exciting, easy to use, and emotionally engaging; participating in product ideation and conceptual development; creating UIs that effectively communicate product function; producing design specifications, storyboards, scenarios, and design prototypes; communicating conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale, both verbally and visually; participating as a contributor to an elite group that includes project managers, negotiation experts, business and financial teams, and software developers.

You should have a solid background in the fundamentals of software development and have a deep understanding of industry best practices. Those without passion need not apply.

  • Passion for creating a positive user experience and efficient, highly intuitive web interfaces
  • Solid experience developing rich, testable GWT applications with MVP
  • Good knowledge of Java, HTML 5, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS and general Web 2.0 techniques
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python) desired
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Have a portfolio of existing work to show off
  • Experience working in an agile environment (Scrum preferable)
  • Experience with Unix/Linux desired
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented design
  • Understanding of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, JSON, WSDL, XSD, and REST
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Genuinely excited about user interfaces, strong interest in learning about the latest technologies
